Hoarfrost Crystals

We have been experiencing a very mild winter this year, and I have been loving it. I do miss seeing the natural beauty of snow when it first coats the landscape. We are still getting a little hoarfrost on our windows when it gets really cold at night. Hoarfrost crystals occur when the atmosphere is saturated with moisture and temperature drops below freezing. To put it even more specifically, it's what happens when water changes from a vapor into a solid. It's such a beautiful form of water.
