Yesterday was my birthday. My husband rented a hotel room downtown for the night. We checked in and then ran all around the city, ate dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, did a little shopping and played with Legos. Mostly we just relaxed in our hotel room and didn't think at all about all of the work we have to do. I decided to take a bath and came up with the idea to throw the chamomile tea from the hotel room in the tub with me. It smelled amazing, peppermint tea would also smell great in a bath. Ryan swam in the pool, while I relaxed in my chamomile bath. To top everything off my in-laws completely surprised us and had a bottle of bubbly sent to our room. When we opened the door we initially thought they must have had the wrong room. I even have some vegan chocolate mousse cake left over to snack on for the next few days. The best part of all is that I got the one thing I wanted the most. I'm so excited for the year ahead.

I have randomly been posting photos of her throughout the years not knowing who she is. I still don't really know, except for her name and that she's Russian. What I do know is that she is one of the most adorable young women I have seen, and her style is chic and fearless. This is how I would like to dress if my lifestyle and income allowed for it.

Here is another gem from Ben. I may as well do an entire post with just my favorite photos that he has taken. This photo was taken at the Minnesota State Fair. It has been a long time since I have been to one of those "get togethers", and they are a big deal in Minnesota. People either love them or they hate them.

I am trying my best to focus on water as a resource for the rest of my time at school. Water rights, ethics and conservation are incredibly important environmental and social issues facing us today. Do you think it's right for a body of water to be privatized and sold as a commodity rather than shared in order to maintain life? Do you want corporations to have a monopoly on water in impoverished communities? These practices and others that are just as troublesome are currently happening and with very little public awareness. This problem is closer to us than C02 and peak oil and global warming, because it is actually something that we can't survive without.
