Sandy

I'm glad to hear that my loved ones in New York and the surrounding areas are all doing fine. Well I still haven't heard from a few of them, but I imagine they are still sleeping and may wake up with some nice hangovers. I can't even imagine what it must be like for those without power or flooded homes. New Yorkers always seem to really pull it together during crazy times. Take care of each other.

Ghosts of Halloweens Past

These are just some of my favorite past Halloween costumes. My very favorite was when I dressed as a nun. I went to the bar that my husband (then boyfriend) was playing records at, and for the first half hour or so I couldn't get served or even acknowledged by the staff. Eventually I talked to the right person, and found out that they thought I was a real nun. It must have been the vintage cat eye glasses and rosary that really pulled it off. My husband was dressed as a cow, so we decided that together our costume would be called "Holy Cow". I have never really been into the sexy Halloween costume thing, but if you are then more power to you. I don't really get dressed up for Halloween anymore, or at least I haven't in the last few years. Last year I was in Florida for my longtime friend's wedding, and the year before that I was just way too busy. This year I'm just not partying on Halloween for a pretty exciting reason. That's not to say that I will never get dressed up again though. I just may be more interested in someone else's costume more than my own.

Don't Need Love

This is just one of the many reasons that I want to move to LA. This music video, Don't Need Love, is by Matthew and the Mainstream. It's amazing both the song and video. It is starring, written, performed and made by some of my best friends. They are not only great people but also super talented individuals. The video itself is still on the DL for a little while longer.

I'm so happy for them.

With Halloween fast approaching and today being my brother's birthday I felt it would be wrong not to share this old photo of us. My brother won best costume that year, and I checked a random homeless man's blood pressure. It was normal.

Frances Bean

The first time I really began thinking I was getting old was when I realized that this beauty is technically an adult. I think I was in middle school when she was just a little beanie baby.

Dmitry Sholokhov

This has been a really crazy week for me. Maybe interesting is a better word. It was one of those weeks that builds character. On top of all the personal issues, midterms, work and financial stresses weighing on me I discovered that Emily and Jef broke up. So Dimitry winning PR season ten was the one redeeming quality from the past few days. I liked him right from the start, and then at some point I think I started to love him. Like Michael Kors said, he is a real gentleman. He also has an amazing story about moving to New York alone, with just a backpack, a little bit of money and a big dream. I like to imagine that he had kittens and candy in that backpack. Then there's that accent, sense of humor, positive attitude, talent and mysteriousness. I could go on and on, and I get the strong feeling that I'm not the only admirer out there. I can honestly say that he is my absolute favorite contestant to ever be on PR. This is saying a lot, because of my love for Gretchen Jones and Santino and the fact that there has just been so many fascinating people on that show.

Mr. and Mrs.

I love these two. It's safe to assume who I will be voting for November 6th.

Project Runway Season 10 Winner

Dmitry Sholokhov

Christopher Palu
This season had a lot a really talented and very likable designers. I loved the final five. I am usually pretty good at being able to pick out a winner at some point in the season. This season does not have a clear winner though. I do feel confidant that these two guys will make it to New York Fashion Week. I want Dmitry to win, but for personal reasons. I think he has an amazing sense of humor. So much so that I may have developed a little crush on him. I always go for the odd ones. Melissa was an early prediction of mine for fashion week. Even though she's someone I would like to hang out with, her designs lost me a while ago. The necklines and asymmetry are a bit too harsh and costume for my taste. If she goes back to all black or even just dark and monochromatic then she may have a shot at fashion week. I can't even imagine what Fabio's collection will look like, and that's not good. I'm really looking forward to seeing all of their final collections.

Louis Vuitton 2013

This is always one of my favorites. This season is so vintage 60s and 70s. It reminds me of my nana's old clothes that I used to wear sometimes in high school.

This one was taken by my old coworker Hailey. I believe her boyfriend wrote this on her steps. He has pretty nice handwriting and must be really romantic. She deserves a good one, and she is tres tres belle.

Queen Victoria Water Lily

These plants are between 6 and 8 feet wide, and can hold about 100 pounds. I would like to take a nap on one and just float along a peaceful river. I would also love to see some fashion photography utilize these incredible plants. I can imagine them in Vogue or W with models like Natalia Vodianova, Karlie Kloss and Sasha Pivovarova modeling super feminine dresses like Marchesa, Elie Saab and Alberta Ferretti.
